Morocco-USA Trade overview

 

Total bilateral trade between Morocco and the U.S. represented $1.166 million through the third quarter of 2009 (end of September) compared to $1.119 million over the same period in 2008.

Morocco Exports to the USA

Total Moroccan exports to the U.S. amounted $349 million through the third quarter of 2009, down 48% compared to $677 million over the same period in 2008.

Leading Moroccan exports to the U.S. registered a significant decrease. Products such as salt, sulphur, earth and stone decreased to $125 million (-55%); electric machinery, sound and TV equipment dropped to $ 56 million (-38, 8%); vegetables, fruit nuts and other plants decreased to $27 million (-33, 5%), edible preparations of meat, fish and crustaceans fell to $19 million

(-5, 3%). Meanwhile, export items such as edible fruit and nuts, citrus fruit and melon raised up to $13 million (+36, 8%), gums, resins and other vegetables went up to $8.7million (+38%).  

 U.S. Exports to Morocco

Total U.S. exports to Morocco amounted $817 million, an increase of 85% compared to the same period in 2008 ($677 million). Leading U.S. exports to Morocco were: aircraft, spacecraft and parts with a value of $301 million, up 157% and mineral fuel, oil, bitumen substances with a value of $217 million, up 19%.

U.S. export items such as animal and vegetable fats, oil and waxes fell to $76 million, down 36%; cereals went down to $97,9 million (-28, 8%); dairy products, birds eggs and honey dropped to $10,9 million, down 84 %; arms and ammunition parts fell to $6,3million, down 94%.
